brighter vdo guage bulbs anyone know where to get them?

whats going on guys. yea wanna put brighter lights in my vdo guages they look like there all diffrent shades of yellow right now and my eye's are not as sharp as they use to be .thanks .

the ones that go in the console oil pressure water temp and on the piller boost got them from poston years ago just want to know if theres a brighter replacement light .

You can get most any bulb out there in a LED replacement. I've purchased a lot of them over the years on Ebay. They really freshen up a stock dash and console as well. Just get the number off of the bulbs the search that number with LED attached to it. I really think you'll like it.

Are they VDO Cockpit series? I had those and thought they were too dark. Replaced them with the Vision series. The light shines through the face, much better.

LED would be the way to go- pull out a bulb and head to Radio Shack and see if they can hook you up... but be warned: they might be pretty lost and confused if you aren't buying a cell phone or flat screen tv, so be prepared to be disappointed..

Forgive me if I missed it in your linked post, but what bulbs, if any, did you use for under the dash, pass/driver footwell? Also, did you replace the dome light?

I swapped out all the 168/194's for the single LED bulbs for dome light & lighted mirror & glovebox; the foot-wells & trunk I used a couple of
1156 LED Bulb - Single Intensity 30 LED
I used the really "cool" white which is like a fluorescent; & I used red LEDs for the instrument cluster 'cause I liked the look

I'll go back and add to this since I looked at my own gauges.

4 are standard 194 wedge base bulbs.

The Tach is a TypeD "peanut bulb"

There are actually several bulb types.

Gotta bring this back up to save people some money. LED's are awesome-for computers. Stay away from them in the auto industry unless they come factory. They burn out way too quick. I've had to switch my entire GS back to factory bulbs again because those leds are worthless. The car's electrical system isn't wired for them. I know I know you've had them in your car for 32 years now but what's the odds? What IF they all go out? NOW you gotta take alllllll that shit out and replace them yet again. WAY too much trouble for a few different shades of light. Just not worth the time and money.
