I pulled my ebow off today and the exhaust whell has 5 fin that have the ends broke off, they are missing pieces about 1/4"x1/4" off the ends of each one. The turbo is a te60 from what i was told.

my two questions are ,1- how bad will this kill my performance and 2- how much would it cost to put a new exhaust wheel on.

thanks for any help guys

kevin

Bad news my friend. You can't run it at all without it being totally out of balance. The other bad news is that wheel is one piece with the shaft. It is the compressor wheel which can be replaced. Time for a new turbo! LT-70!

Time for a rebuild Limit Engr just did my te-60. 2 day turn around
If you ship it do the 2 or 3 day also on return shipping. It may cost more but less down time. Rebuild $450-525 they can also
upgrade for a few pennies more.

thanks for the help,

what can they upgrade the te60 to, i was looking to go bigger any way but kinda kills my pocket now. I was going to sell the te60 and go with a 63 or 70.

51 and 52 only ones that had 10 blades

look on the part that the i/c hose goes on and see if it has 51 or 52 scratched in it not casted but scratched

may be possible someone built a 60 with that wheel but I dought it

i didnt see any thing but they might have polished it out when they did the housing. It does look like it has a casting of ??-1 next to the intake of the housing, maybe it is 60-1 that would make it a te52 with the 10blade right.

thanks for the help red, your ok in my book

from the looks of the pic it looks like it may be a turbonetics cheater turbo which they use a 60 wheel I think with the 10 blade exaust

your wheels broke differently than all the 51 failures I've seen

I tried calling you last night but got no answer :p
