Bruce, others. Getting a 2004r to live behind a 425hp 396

Gonna do the swap on my Chevelle. Want to learn about automatics and wonder what hard parts (if any) I should use in a 200r4 to make sure it lives....could also use good rebuild info for an automatic tranny Newbie....even Bruce had to learn sometime

Ratman, check out the post at the top of this forum page and you can read why and how to accomplish what you are trying to do. There is no problem with getting a 200 4R to live behind a BBC. It's just a matter of money, as is everything in life. Mark

That Post on Strengthening the 2004r needs some updating as more parts are now available . I got one more part in the works and then I will update it all at once.

But , that is a GREAT place to start.
