Since when was it cheap to produce big HP from a 231 inch (give or take) pushrod V6? 109, Stage or TA? It stops getting cheap when you push the 109 past the point where it becomes TSM spec. What is that - 500 HP? 600 HP?

I'm not at all surprised to think a fully decked out TA block with all the ancilliaries would cost $35K. I doubt any Stage or TA guy would be either.

RA's wisdom still applies today. Go past 11.5 and you're looking at major $$$ and lots of attrition.

I find myself gravitating toward the Gen III and IV stuff - how about you?

I agree completely with you. A stage 2 "build from scratch" is easily $35k. I would probably go small block turbo ford if I ever made the switch from buicks. I do like the gen IV stuff though, plenty of potential for monster power.
