With the current weather and flooding situation has this changed your plans for the event?

Just got off the phone with Beech Bend Dragstrip and Dallas just got off the phone with the Buick club and its postponed.

Dallas gave the Club a few other dates later in teh year that the track has openings.

The Club now has to meet with its folks and chose the time they want to have it at. The lady said July, Oct was a few of the possible times given.

Lets see what they choose, hope they handle this correctly.

Isn't this around the same time as Reynolds?

4 days after Noble, two weeks before Reynolds. Going to hurt attendance at all, fall out has already started in the threads on here.

I was planning on going to Noble this year but with the current situation I have 1 week of vacation and I'd really like to go to BG. I really don't know what to do now.

July would have been the better date for sure!!

July would have been the better date for sure!!

They may be thinking that some records will be set/broken with the cool air that October will bring. Whether they were thinking that or not I bet it happens......that is if racers decide to attend.

Honestly there was a bunch of whining about the heat and having teh event in it in JUL. And of course icing on the cake is the cars do run good in colder weather.

I believe it is most likely cooler weather that determined the date to be in October. Can you blame anyone for that? Can you blame someone for the flooding?

I was completely devistated when I heard of the flooding. I have never had a car to the Buick Nationals, and my Suncoupe was ready to go. I have been busting my butt to get little details done to go and look go. And to hopefully run good. I am just going to have to wait now to have my car at the event that I have known about for so many years, and will soon be my 3rd time attending.

We all have time to plan now, even though the 2 events are 2 weeks away. Just bite at the challenge and plan ahead to attend both. Maybe we should hold a special gathering for those that attend BG at the Reynolds event.

Some of those that are chasing numbers, can look at BG as a shake down getting ready. That's what I am talking about !
