In the wintertime i planned to swap a 231 turbo into my Buick Regal Ltd 305. I think the swap is not to difficult but i have some bethinks.
In the past i was a V8 guy and does sound right to swap V8 (only 305 LG4) to V6 because i love the sound from my V8.
There a many rationale for the 231
#more hp
#higher mpg (in germany we pay 7,80$ - 8,00$ per gallon)
#to make more hp from LG4 is waste of time and money

Anybody make this swap and regred it ?

With this sound i could life :-)

Getting all the parts required to do the swap will be the biggest issue since you're in Germany. It will take more time and money than I think you expect. The LG4 can make plenty of usable power and if you add fuel injection to it along with a few other changes you can get a 300 HP engine. Even if you put a crank from a 400 in it you'll have a torque monster and the injection system will give you decent mileage.

Before I do the swap I give the old LG4 a last chance.
He became a Edelbrock intake (cab intake with TBI adapter) and a Voodoo cam.
Last weekend I build a new exhaust with headers, new high flow cats and Glasspacks. Exhaust tips ends left and right befor rear axle

Could I used my old brake master cylinder or really needed the master cylinder with hydroboost ?

You'd probably be ahead working with what you have. The turbo 6 is more than the engine, you'll need the harness, EVERYTHING ELSE under the hood, trans, rear end, and fuel tank, lines, etc. The V6 doesnt get THAT much more mpg, especially if your into boost alot:mad:

First of all, hi, Germany wow and you own a Buick Regal. If I were you I would look into buying a GN or turbo Regal if that's what your after, simply because it can be difficult enough to source parts here on this side of the globe to do a swap. In the end a complete car would be less of a head ache.

I couldn't imagine the frustration and cost of getting parts where you are. I was in Greece in 1993 and believe it or not I saw an 86 GN sitting behind a small shop, the owner (Canadian) who had it shipped there just gave up on it, it's likely still there, I haven't been back since so I haven't been able to check.

Are there many American cars where you are?

Waste of time. I did one before. Never again...buy a true turbo regal.

Why waste of time ? I buy 231 engine with all parts, transmission, engine wire, driveshaft,Ecm and converter.

Too buy a t type or grand national is pretty expensive and not available in europe.

There is more to it, you need the fuel system and tank, probably should upgrade to something more stout than the 7.5 rear. Just a lot of work compared to springing for a car that already has these pieces.
I'm not saying don't do it, I am saying do some more research on what you will need. Put it on paper, include the labor and you will see why the turbo cars bring big coin.

Then after all that work is done your insurance covers just enough to buy an Alky Kit from Alkycontrol.
