Thats a lot of time for just smacking someone. What did they charge you with? Was it your first offense? Id knock his ass out too if he was a dick to my kids.

I was going to ask the same thing about priors, but didn't want to get to deep in your business.

I thought assault was a misdemeanor. Assault can be as simple as a threat.

My brother and I got into a fight with these two clowns and I ended up fighting both of them so my brother pulled his gun to scare them and he got charged with aggravated assault and my charge was a felony..aggravated battery. Battery is when you make contact.

Got a attorney and ended up not doing any time and got my record sealed. It was my first offense. Aahhh the good ole days.

Did they not offer you to pay restitution and no time? You did F him up good tho...more than just a smack. That probably didn't help. Seems your military service would have been a positive. Must have been a hardcore Judge.

Id say some of his training and military training has something to do with it. Seems like they are harder on them because their training s considered as a deadly weapon? WTF the people that protect our country get shafted after years or service! Just a bad deal when you cant even stick up for your kids anymore.

Yeah it's a bummer you have to do some time. By the sounds of the evidence a guy with broken/wired jaw and all the physical evidence or lack of (missing broken teeth) it wouldn't go in your favor. The judge sees your big ass in court 6'4" and 290 one of America's best fighting machines USMC , man they probably looked at the poor guy you walloped and had pity on him and said you should've known better and should have showed more restraint. Which you did I'm sure you could have easily snapped his neck. Man are you going to the Tent city run by that infamous Pima county Sheriff? The tent city don't have a rec hall or cable. Hope you get out early for good behavior. Bummer man good luck and keep kool...

your kid just turned 18 and can bench 345, he was 16 when this happened so why didn't he just knock his d*** in the dirt, saved you alot a bs. my son just turned 13 he's 5'6 about 130 and his max is already 185, i know if i was divorced and my wife had a new man he sure wouldn't take sh** from him..but no work release, did he know the judge.

I got busted up real good over there which I don't want to go in to great detail about, I ended up having an addiction to morpheme and a bit of a drinking problem. Needless to say I was not a pleasant person to be around and was charged with a few domestic violence charges. ( broken doors and a few holes in the wall ) pretty much why we got divorced. It was tough. New boy friends every other month...staying in my house that at the time I was still paying for! It was like a country western song! Things smoothed out after a few years and I thought things were going to be ok until this DICK moved in with her.

FWIW, I'm a little envious. You get some time to yourself and out of the rat race. Make the best of it and hopefully you can turn a negative into a positive. It'll go by quick.

Well for what its worth I'm Grateful for you putting your ass on the line so I can walk out my door securely every day and earn a living.

I've seen many of my co-workers get hooked on pain meds and wreck their careers and families. It does not discriminate from those on either sides of the law. Hopefully we hear from you sooner then later.

What does ones bench pressing abilities have to do with anything? Its not a good measure of strength and it doesnt take a lot of skill to bench press more than someone who doesnt routinely lift weights. There are guys who weigh 50lbs less than me and bench 200lbs less than me and i sure as hell would not want to fight with them. The no work release thing is total BS. The judge must have been a real douchebag.

i know how you are feeling about having to go in. just remember,think about your kids, don't let anybody get to you! only get to business in there if you really have no choice. the courts will f**k you over for b.s even if you don't start it, especially for what your in for. make a list of books you like have them sent to you and read,read,read. it will help pass the time

My father

Used to tell me that life is all about one door closing and another one opening. I fought with my ex wife after we split, alot of arguments over money, child support etc and I resorted to nasty name calling, this was back in 2003 and in 2007 she died from cancer at 38. Looking back I realize that what I did was childish & hurtful. I'd give anything to have her back for just 2 minutes just to say "I'm sorry" I never got that chance before she died. My kids are now 15 & 16 yrs old and live with me, its been tough but I promised myself I will never breakdown and stay strong.
I hope things work out for you in the future and hang in there! Remember, no matter how old you get you're still a father.

Hopefully now he will treat your kids with more respect or take a chance on you lighting him up again. This time though, let someone else do it for you. Then you have a perfect alabi.
