after 23 years.plastic starting to crack. as i witnessed yesterday when i was washing the car. Any clues to where the best place to have them painted and matched to color of my car?

thanks

Your only options are to buy new GM, or aftermarket plastic or fiberglass. Once they start to crack or "haze", they are done.

Yup they had a bad haze to them. Is there anything special about getting them. Painted? Or does anyone recommend a shop? Do they still paint lacquer?

Nothing special about getting them.....it's just a part.........I don't know of any that come painted, except used ones......good luck

what i meant to say are there anyone on here that recommends a paint shop that specializes in these cars?

If you get factory fillers; The paint shop will add a flex agent to the paint(HOPEFULLY they will know that's a requirement:rolleyes: ). If you go with the fiberglas pieces; It's not necessary.

will they paint it lacquer or polyurethane also i should do all 4. i just dont want it to look ridiculous. i have a light blue turbo t and worried about it not matching.

Match ing exactly is a roll of the dice. Save them a piece to have analyzed. There is no guarantee on the match. They will use base/clear almost all the time.

above advice is all good and dead on. You are fortunate thy are the fronts that cracked I say that because the fronts are still available from GM and companies like Gbodyparts.com or myself have them. We also have the aftermarket the abs style not the fiberglass. Fiberglass have no give to them if they get pushed or hit.

Any competent body shop can do the work give them the paint code and like the one post said a piece of your original and they should know about the flex agent being needed since this is not something new to them.

The fact you got 22 years out of yours is quite good. Owners down south don't even come close to that time span because of the extreme heat.

Hazing I think is some kind of reaction with the air. No real answer except it happens on the fillers.

Factory Front Fillers

Guys, Remember The New Factory Fillers Are "bare" And Have No Primer,if You Paint Directly Over The Bare Rubber, the Paint Will Not Last.. Ppg Has A Small Kit They Sell, A Cleaner, conditioner And Adheasion Promoter, prior To Epoxy Primer.. (kit Is Approx 35.00) Then You Can Base Coat, clear With Flex Agent..
