Buying with Confidence

I’m considering making a large purchase over the internet. Any recommendations to be sure I get what I think I’m buying? Too many people have been getting scammed now days. For all I know the seller could be the most honest guy in the world and probably is but just watching my back.

Define big purchase? For a car or parts? No seller is gonna get offended if you post who they are. That's what the forum is for. It's not a secret auction. If they do get offended then I wouldn't buy chit from them.

Also, where is the itme located? If someone on the board is nearby, maybe they would go take a look over said item(s) & report back (in case the seller isn't a member here).

It's a motor I'm looking at. I talked with the motor builder who is a site sponcer today and it sounds good. Lets hope it pans out.
