calif. emissions and TA33 turbo

I am curious, would a TA33 turbo have any major effects on smog? Ive been wanting to upgrade my stock 85 turbo, but Im not sure if it will prove a large hassel for smog.

The larger than stock turbo will reduce NOx, so long as you're not into boost during the emissions test. Since ASM test for CA is a steady state test with minimal load, the larger turbo should not be a problem.
