Does anyone have any experience with California Performance Transmissions (the real Art Carr's shop) p/n: 16030 200R4 Heavy Duty Super Convertor 10" lock-up? The convertor has a 2600-2800 rpm stall which I'm looking for. Or the same stall speed Pro Torque convertor? I'm really looking for the best street/strip convertor around a 2800 rpm stall speed for a T/A-49 turbo. I don't mind spending a little more and getting something that is good and will last. Thanks for any info, Craig

I have a Neal Chance 10" 2800 with my GT3255. Works great. It was around $500. I have got 1.68 60' so far. There are no suspension mods. Just MT DRs.

I was talking to Art yesterday and he does not recomend the 10" for a Buick. The 9" 19930 is one of the best but it is a bit more money. I did not know that Chance had a converter for the 200 I have one for my 400 and it is killer

I did not know either until my trans builder had them on the shelf. My trans guy said Marty was trying to get into the Vigilante/others market. I was told the money difference between the Vigilante and Neal Chance was the case. Which I do not think is an issue for a bolt on car. For $500, I figured I would try it. I am very happy with it.

The converter in my car, was a 12'' Neal Chance converter. It was 800 dollars from them. I got it when I bought the car and it wasnt speced correctly for the cam. Anyways, i talked to Marty and he doesnt mess with the 2004rs much but does have some converters for them.

You may want to talk to Dusty Bradford, he is a PTC dealer and should be able to hook you up.

With a TA49 and a properly functionng stock D5 converter, an after market converter is unnecessary unless a cam change has been performed. My opinion and experience.

My Ltd will sixty in the mid 1.5s - low 1.6s on Hoosier QTPs..........all day long. NO suspension mods and with foot brake.

Unless you need to spend money or are looking to upgrade the turbo, stick with the D5. Its a great converter!
