There might be a bit of confusion here. I believe Freddie is referring to aluminum covers which he pulled from a FWD motor that have the same pattern as those on his RWD motor. The "RWD heads" (i.e. 8445's) were used on some FWD 3.8 applications (1984/85?). These have the four perimeter bolts to attach the valve covers. They are very similar to the SFI/Turbo 3.8's covers.

The TTA uses heads that are most commonly found on 3.0 (and 3.8) FWD's. These heads use three center bolts to attach the valve covers. I belive these came out about 1986.


I don't think there are any factory perimeter-style covers that will accept roller rockers. Most aftermarket covers are taller.
