cam sensor adjustment question

I read over the cam sensor adjustment procedure in gnttype.com and it provides that you need to bring the #1 piston to TDC. Is this TDC on the compression stroke or on the exhaust stroke?

I also read how a 180 degree change in the sensor position would make no difference due to the setup being a wasted spark set up but it also mentions that it WOULD effect fuel delivery so I want to make sure the cam sensor is set correctly.

The best and easiest way to set the cam sensor is with the cam sensor setting tool from caspers electronics.

I bought one many years ago and have used it a lot and it makes setting the sensor a piece of cake,i think i paid $30.00 for it.
