Cam Sensor Spacer Shims.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong!

The P/N (1837617) for the Cam Sensor Spacer Shims on GNTTYPE.org is wrong.

The inside diameter of the "washer" is too small, thus it won't fit over the sensor driveshaft.

So who has the REAL P/N? Or does anyone see a problem with me going to a hardware store and just buying a shim/washer... and thus return the unused $10 worth of shims to GM?

Fixed the situation:

I took a spare and worn out SBC HEI Distributor and cut the shaft in half with a hacksaw, removed the shim from it... and found that it is a perfect fit for the Buick shaft. And it gave me the .015" of play that I needed... hopefully this will cure my tick.

So there ya go... a new cheaper source for the shims... and abundant too.

If an administrator for GNTTYPE.org reads this... they may want to KILL that part number off of the GM and non-GM parts page.

thats not the only PN thats wrong on there. at one section there is a wrong number for head gaskets showing the numbers for NA motors

Thanks for pointing that out guys. Although I must note, that some of the part nubers are getting stale...at one time it was prolly correct. The General changes stuff from time to time.

I'll notate the cam sensor shims # on the web page (once my access to gnttype.org is restored) but the head gasket number looks correct to me
