Cam sensor Timing

question regarding setting the timing...

I'm building my first buick engine (actually my first engine ever), and I am completly confused at how to set the cam sensor at the 25 degrees ATDC. I know about the caspers tool, however if I can do it without any special tools it would be great... So if anyone can give detailed instructions on setting the initial timing, please let me know. I'm so close to starting my motor, I can almost smell the exhaust!!

read one or both of these pages, same basic idea. i own the caspers tool and when i had my engine out for my build i used it to set the cam sensor and it was extremely easy! hope this helps!
