set up card calls for .004-.006
with the shims I have I can get .003 or .008
Is .008 my best pick

Torque your timing cover down and let it sit overnight (smear a thin film of grease or oil on the gasket so it doesn't stick). Odds are it'll collapse a couple thou and your .008 will be the right answer.

Yes I had the tight .005 after a week it went to .003 took it apart took out a .005 reassemble got .008 was surprise I lost .002

Set mine at .007 make sure all the bolts are in, even the water pump bolts !!!

The thicker FelPro gasket will give a little more than then thinner GM gasket. I'm surprised it was only .002".


Just to put it into real numbers for those that don't know how big .002" actually is... The hair on your forearm is 2 thou.
