I have a GN fender that needs to go to James in Florida.
Anyone from New England driving down that way want to bring him the fender to help him save on shipping?
Or
is anyone a trucker?

Otherwise I will ship it.

Thanks Guys

Thanks for helping out! I hope to have my car back together soon. I don't mind paying shipping escpecially since Steve was so generous to donate his fender after seeing my video. I think the problem is Steve doesn't know who will ship a fender. If you've ever shipped something like this could you give some instructions? Who knows someone might actually be driving to this area sometime soon. :p

Thanks,

James

PS, I almost had a way. A guy down here in the Air Force is in my car club and he was visiting family in his hometown of Lancaster NH. I think he's flying though but I'll check.

If someone does, they can stop in Birmingham and pick up this hood for you..
;)

That would be great too! The help on this forum has been fantastic. Like I said I have a hood, but it's beat up pretty bad. If it isn't useable I'll drive up to Birmingham and get yours. As for the current state of the car it's got the front clip off and the new core support on. A friend of mine works at a body shop so he's going to do work on the fenders soon or whenever I get that one from Steve. I got the rest of the front end parts on order and they should be here at the end of this week from Bweavy. The track I wrecked at has offered to set me up with a very good painter and the track is going to offer him feel admission in exchange for the work. Sounds like everything is going to work out. I feel so fortunate to be a member of this community. In fact, I didn't know if I was even going to keep in this hobby after the accident, but this has made up my mind.

Thanks guys!

James

:) I Actually took the fender out of my cold shed today & let it warm up so I could wrap it up.

I used Double bubble all over it.. Used a 1/2 roll of tape & put extra bubble on the ends. Then I overlayed a layer of White packing wrap with that strech saran packing stuff. NEAT STUFF!

The post office may take it like that. I will be bringing it for a quote to see if they allow it.
I also will Try the fed ex office too.
Maybe they can view it & tell me yes or no.

But just incase anyone is heading south let me know.
I can also meet up with anyone at the Cotten Winter party in Feb if James can wait that long

Fedex freight would probably take it. UPS *might* but I dont trust them w/ breakable stuff:rolleyes: If those two dont work, look up some freight companies in the phone book. Whoever takes it, just box it up an pack it good.

Bax Global handles all our large item shipments. You could get a box from a body shop, cut it down to fit the UPS limits, & use them. If it's packaged good, it should arrive safely whoever you use. Good luck.

If you want a hood a little closer to you, my buddy has 2 decent hoods in his garage.

Hey James, I've got a set of worn out kingpins from a '78 Ford Pickup if you can use em.

To beat the guy that smashed your car!!!

Actually it wasn't Jesse James but the board's own Mark Martone that has used them before..
;)

Greyhound should take it.

Pick it up at the bus terminal.

I would get or make a box for it to go over the bubble wrap. :)

SHIPPING UPDATE

James,
I was able to hit all 3 places for quotes for you.

Here is the breakdown. NH to FLA

UNITED PARCELS = Just fender with wrap on = $49- With a box she said about $7 off that price.

POST OFFICE = $80-

FED EX = Fender with wrap $28- He said if I boxed it that would make it go way high in cost because the derisions are just at the limit currently.
He suggested to me to completely re-tape once more.
