Imagine just paying the chrome refinishing for that, I had a neighbor that had a red one with a white top. :biggrin:
Looks fairly solid.....
But we all know how deceiving that can be.I like it. How much $$$$$

Be prepared for a mid 5 figure price tag ($50,000 or so). Those things are big money!
Well its all set, She is willing to let me and my brother have the car. But i promised to help her with some yard work (30 acres) holy crap what are we getting ourselves into.
But we have to pay someway right cant just take the car for nothing right.O and i forgot to mention that this is my friends wife, He passed away about a year and a half ago.

When I saw the title of the thread, I thought, I bet it is a 54 Skylark convertible. Sure enough, it was. BTW- My next door neighbor has a perfect '54 skylark convertible, white and red.

Oh yea, so did I. I was figuring the $50,000 price for the way it sits now.
Besides V8, may want to check into The Buick Club of America ( Buick Club of America - BCA - Welcome ). Those guys will go nuts with this. Oh, I wouldn't spread it too far you got this for essentially free...just sayin' .

You should also check out Team Buick - Team Buick Front Page. Lots of real knowledgeable guys on that forum. Its to early Buicks like this site is to Turbo Buicks.
I wasn't expecting that! I thought, maybe some unknown mid 50's custom being thought of as an undocumented factory custom or something. Stuff like this doesn't really happen other than in second hand stories, or does it? WOW!@!!!
Yeah, ditto! That'd get ya a bad rap with the widow and the whole extended family real quick if you intend to keep it and it becomes locally known for what it is. Of course you could sell for an undisclosed amount quickly. Or maybe your best intentions will be rewarded doubly by keeping it and the freindly relationship with your former bud's wife. Just a thought, but if you do keep it and it's value is acknowledged, you could offer to donate a portion of whatever you sell it for, if you ever do, to her and her former husband's favorite charity as a good will gesture in knowing the fortunate turn of events you've received.
That's just Awesome that you've such a spectacular barn find however it turns out!
