Can i take this 2005 Z06

Like the thread says i wonder if i can take him, we are gonna race from a dig, he has stage two package on his car, which includes, exaust,headers,decklid,intake(K&N filter), reflashed chip,throttle body, according to him the car is making 460hp, he will be on street tires and i will be on mickey thompson drag radials, what do i need to take this guy out, my combo in the sig below, i will be running my alky,91 octane and 22 pounds of boost, 22* timing chip with 16psi on the MT..

Set yours to kill.. if you get out far enough from the start hopefully he'll give up, otherwise I think he'll end up passing you ~100mph.

unless hes got a de-tuned z06 that was a prototype, then he doesnt have a 2005 z06


the c6 z06 is a 427 with 500 hp.

maybe 2004 z06 with mods making 460 is right. if so, thats a 10 sec car.

yes your right is a 2004 Z06 not an 05.

after reading your original post, hes saying hes making 460 with a intake and a few other bolt on's...thats at the flywheel maybe. at the wheels, hes seeing maybe 390-400 at best.

my buddys 2004 made 375 at the wheels and ran mid 12's on street tires at 115mph. i have seen some people run 11's in a almost stock z06, but its on drag radials.

a z06 is very fast from a roll. dont underestimate it.

His quote of 460hp must be flywheel because I don't see those mods adding 120rwhp to the car. Every '02+ Z06 I have seen with those mods is a solid mid-11sec car. A good driver could put one into the low-11s.

This sound exactly like the guy I raced at the Q last friday night. Is his car black, black wheels, tinted windows, loud azz exhaust? Is he a pretty big white fella with an accent? Pretty cool guy I might add and keeps his car very clean as well.

If so, he knows how to drive that thing! I think he won every race until he meet me put two cars on'em.

For real though, that car is fast and he launches hard as hell out of the hole. Also, if it is the same guy...he has 4:10 gears in the rear, he probably didn't tell you that.

Some advice anyhow, get some C-16, turn the boost up and take him out, and oh yeah, launch hard. Good luck bud.\\Ray

I really really hate to say it, but I think the Z06 is going to take you.

You will probably get him out of the hole, but I don't think you have enough to keep up.

For it to be close, you're going to need lots of boost, and a perfectly tuned car.

I will post results win or lose..and if I lose heads are coming off new set of fully ported heads, ported intake and a 212/212 cam going in.. then i go back for revenge..

My Limited ran 11.95 with chip, 3" DP w/crossover flow exhaust, T62e, 50 lb injectors, 3200 stall, K&N, airbags, boxed suspension, boost and Walbro 340. It had more in it too and it looks like your car has more punch.

I'm gonna agree here, 88 in the 1/8 won't be able to hold off the Zs topend, unless he just can't launch at all or if your car is doin better since that pass. They are very strong once moving. Good luck, hope you can get him
