I recently installed my Pro Torque converter and now it seems like I am having bad slipping in 1-2 shifts @ WOT. Partial throttle shifts are fine.....The car did this before with the other converter but now it is more noticeable with the Pro Torq. I'm attaching my Powerlogger files so you can see the KR at the shift point..........any input????????

Anyone have any comments on this?????? Tranny slipping into 1st and 2nd causing knock...anyone????

ive always noticed some knock when my tires spin and that would be sort of like an RPM flare when a trans is slipping i guess, but i dont know for sure. actually after looking at the file maybe it could be false knock on the shift because it looks like it spiked real fast instead of building up to 14.3kr.

I can't view the log here at work, I'll take a look when I get home.
Generally knock in first and second is false. Do you mean 2-3 shift?

Rick, it is definitely the 1-2 shift. You can see it in the graph I posted in the MS Word. Doc.........

Does your tps only go to 4.30 at WOT? If so , you might want to raise it some.

Mine is doing the exact same thing, in fact i have some powerlogger files that look identical.. it spikes then goes away, my trans is also slipping on the 1-2 shift...i did some 3rd gear pulls and no knock,,,I also backed the 1-2 timing way back kept the boost the same and the trans then shifted fine with no slipping and there was no knock, so in my opinion the fact it goes right away and you don't see it anymore its false, prob hearing something in the trans.

Spike the fuel with a bunch of octane and see if it goes away.

By octane I mean real octane, not octane booster. Try a 50% mix of race gas.

Its probably mechanical noise setting the knock sensor off.

I might give this a try, if it worked for your car it might work for mine. Thanks for the info!
