Cant get boost under control

Ight well I just got the motor in and runnin good. Its got about 210 miles on it right now. But I bought a used manual boost controller like the 1 ATR sells. I have a turbonetics race gate and it has 2 places to hook the controller up to and 1 on the compressor side of the turbo. But the one from ATR wont work I dont think cause it only has 2 hook ups and i need 3 lines. I might have mine hooked up wrong but i dont know. One of the lines split and i have the split lines going to the turbo and the top of the wastegate that says vacuum. The other is a single line that is hooked to the side of the wastegate. And the line that splits is run into the side of the controller that has an arrow pointing to it. The other single line is on the opposite side from the arrow. please some body help i cant give it more than 1/4 throttle without it tryin to boost way to high thanks
