Cant get it out of drive!!!!!!!!!

I have a 86 Regal T-type and i had been driving it for bout an 45mins and when i stopped tried to put it in gear it wouldnt go it was jus hard to move so its stuck in D do anyone know what that is!!!!!!!!Please help

I'm assuming you have a floor shifter, and the floor shifter will not move.

Have you tried turning the collar behind the key on the column to see it it will turn? You can change gears here when the floor shifter cable breaks you know.

Other wise check the linkage in the steering column.
