Anyone type up a for sale ad for your GN/T and then delete it because you realized how much you like the car? I hardly ever drive my GN, maybe once every two weeks. I keep spending money on it here and there to try to get it perfect. Now that I finally have the Z and the T fixed and running well, I don't need the GN. I know what has to be fixed on it to make it right, however, I can't bring myself to sell it. Last weekend I detailed the engine bay for pictures to sell it, but I think I'll just keep it. Wife says I need to get rid of one of the cars. I am alone on this?

Absolutely. I find myself wanting to sell alot lately. I've spent so much I'd lose my a$$ and with the market soft it's not worth even trying. But when I open the garage as I'm pulling in from work, it's nice to see it setting there waiting for me.

get rid of the wife  lol. nah seriously though..... there will always be vettes later on, i say selll the vette!

I would sell the vette also:rolleyes:Don't get me wrong I like the Vette I just find most vette owners are wired a little different:rolleyes:,kinda like Harley guys. They have to have the Harley lighter ,shoes, and all the other parafanalia>Good luck either way

I gave up trying to sell my TT.

As they say it is a lost decade, soft market, maybe if and when this country turns around fools will be parted with thier $$.

I have a classic car dealer friend. He said currently either his HIGH 50k up priced cars sell or the ones under $25k sell. He said the middle ground is no good for him.

Not to get off the subject with you delemma:wink: but what did you use to detail the engine? Looks pretty good.

I've been meaning to detail my engine and haven't decided on what is the appropiate thing(s) to use.

Its been a project to clean it up, I've cleaned it a few times by hand with just a wet rag to get loose stuff off. Vacuumed the intake and around the injectors and every crack I could get into. I wipe it down every time I wash the car with a damp rag or a few. A few months ago I used a spray on engine cleaner/shine but it didn't really work, everything was still dull. So I just tried to keep it clean with the rag technique, but then I hit it with some black magic tire shine foam. I also wiped it down after i put the tire shine on it. Usually, dirt will stick to the tire shine, so you'll have to get used to wiping it down a lot to keep it clean. Only downside is your hands get slippery when wrenching on it right away, but it looks pretty good.

I feel your pain! I can't part with either of mine. They're two absolutely different animals. The Vette is more fun to drive for me than the Buick. Those long sweeping onramps to the highway are fun in the Vette and a nightmare in the Buick. Those boosted launches in the Buick are great too. I say keep 'em both!

Sell the vette, get a C6 Z06 in a few years. Keep the GN close to stock, you have a fast buick already. One should stay simple and reliable. That will be easy to sell when the time comes.

Bad time to sell anyways. The market is on it's ass. Hold on to it till/if things turn around.

I wasnt sure about how I would feel after selling my GN..I got what price I wanted fairly quick and its been a few months and im really not missing it still?...I had it 5-6 years and had a t-type back in 96 also and have been around them for some time..but,still dont miss it...Im sure one day I will regret selling but now that my camaro has the twin turbos, its really everything ive ever wanted in a car.. and more room in the garage..Plus I did buy a project vette:biggrin:

I agree the vette is more fun to drive than the Buick. I have Nitto NT01 tires on the Z, it handles pretty well:eek:

It's like having 3 girlfriends, at some point, it just gets to be too much work to keep them all happy at the same time. Time to cut one loose:D With a new baby coming any day now I'll really have no time for the cars. Cool thing about both the Buicks I have, they both have all the documentation back to 1987. The T, the original owner even took the T to get every recommended GM service at the dealer and penned it into the owner's log book:eek:

What kind of project vette?

79 Corvette, original owner,55,000 miles,4 speed air car,all the original window stickers and paperwork. It had a rod nock and needed paint..motor is in it and its at the paint shop.I got it dirt cheap as I know its just a 79 vette and not a rare one but I like the body style.paid 2200...

Kind of in the same boat but will never sell the GN, the Ttype I'm in no rush to sell , they cost me nothing but storage space which I have plenty of since the GN is up on the lift and the T under it. Just sucks not having the time to finish things up on them and finally get them back on the road and to the track:mad:

I daily drive my C5 and enjoy it everyday, gets lots of looks, reliable and fun.

Someday I will probably sell the Ttype which is worth(6k) what I paid for it 8yrs ago and either buy another T that someone already finished and runs 10's or put a blower kit on the C5:D
If U don't need to sell it I wouldn't but it should be easier to deal with the loss since you have 2 other nice cars to play with.

I can understand your situation... I currently have 6 cars here. A few TR's and some drivers... There's always something to do on one of the cars at any given time...

I've been thinking of selling my GN but it's my baby. I've got so much blood, sweat and tears invested that I'd never get it all back.

I sold my beloved Z car a few years ago, and my frankenbike CBR, and a few other vehicles I was really fond of but the Buicks always hurt the most...

Maybe you can keep them all. "Give" one of them to the wife... Then you can keep them all!!!;)
