Car is "shuttering" at 5 psi of boost

In reference to the possible short. I have a torque strap on the driver's side of the engine to prevent the motor from shifting to the passenger side. Hopefully, I am not getting a short on the passenger side.

As for alky on or off, the car still bucks and surges.

My question is, can anybody help me diagnose the problem by a list of things I should check? I don't know everything there is about this car. Can these symptoms effect the transmission causing it to shift from 1st to 2nd at 4200 rpm's. (only way it shifts is if I take the foot off the accelerator)

With a torque strap on the drivers side, it makes it more lilely not less that there could be a short on the pass side. The motor wants to rise on the drivers side so when you strap it down on the drivers side the pass side pulls down fron the torque. I had a strap on my car for years and the pass side motor mount got so bad that the engine was about a half inch lower on the pass side making the engine look crooked. My positive cable didn't short but got fried from being so close to the header. I also would agree to look for any leaks from the MAF to the throttle body and check the MAF itself.

I to had compressor surge when I switched from a stock turbo to a TA 49, see sig. I would start getting the buck and surge at about 5lbs. of boost, I hated that sound, so I took the advice from a board member and tried the tornado thing in the inlet pipe, I was amazed that the part throttle surging was no longer present, it worked! I installed the tornado as close to the inlet bell as possible, almost right up against it for thosr that wanna give it a try.

I got mine at a real good price on ebay, but alot of the other guys on ebay sell them for $35.00. Pepboys wants like $65.00 for them.
