the KB converter was 25 MPH faster???

something doesnt sound right about this..

Sounds like you have another problem..

what ELSE did you change besides your converter

Took out that 12 inch convertor,put in a new billet trans( THX BRIAN HOFFER) WCC converter and alky with erics chip.
 
wheelin, raising boost from 19 to 24psi with a net gain of 1.44mph indicates the car is not making alot more power or the drivetrain is not transfering it properly to the ground.your previous gains of 25mph on the backhalf were with a locked converter,was the tune the same?were the air temps similar?what did the scanmaster read on these recent runs?was the only change the converter?

You maybe boggin down too much alky you maybe way fat at WOT, whats your controler set at? So your other runs before the mods(alky,TC,chip) must have been on Race gas if you were runnin 23lbs of boost what octane was the chip burnt for, what /who's chip/what timing? Curious if you changed timing/fuel on TT chip? Hopefully it's a just a fine tuning issue.

Other runs were with a 12 inch not locked with reds street chip at 2000 elevation at about 90 degress with a fat tune . Last night was cool out mabe 65 degress O2's were 780 to 800 o2's. Changes were convertor and alky.

No alky was not on very much,my buddy is a great tuner with alky he was with me. Other runs were with race gas never got over 19 psi. No left fuel and timing alone in the TT chip.
 
wheelin,your previous 25mph pickup without lockup is impresive,also with you stating a fat tune,and in the hotter weather,and lower boost.you also stated above that you recently ran the car in much cooler weather so any changes now will not be a completly accurate test.with that being said since you added a converter change and alky with a different tune you must go through the elimination process.turn off the alky,remove the chip,put the old chip in with the same gas,boost to 19psi,and run the car,compare the timeslips.if your in the ballpark,add the alky, new chip,and wake the motor up with the flexability with the tt chip.
 
I'm with Nojug a few answers back. Have you changed the valve springs? This worked for me.Bad springs killed my 3rd gear acceleration over 4000rpm.

im thinking there is something wrong in your tune..

even not locking the converter isnt going change 20+ MPH
it sounds like the car is just down on power..
what was the difference in timming between the two chips?

I'm going to buy a power loger from full throttle tommorow,reds street 94 is 18 or 19 degree and TT alky in 23-21.

I think if this red's chip is locking in 3rd @19 psi with the d5 25 mph is what I got

WCC unlock @19 psi was 20mph seems pretty resonable to me,difference of 5 mph.

But the thing that I don't understand turning the boost up decreased my 1/8 to 1/4 MPH gain while not changing total mph.
 
with the powerlogger data.. we will be able to tell exactly whats going on...
