Car show behavior

This has probably been dealt with many times here but, just one more time. Took my T out to the 28th st. Metro Cruise here in Wyoming, Mi. Just sitting back watching the girls go by. Noticed a woman with her 2 small kids going from car to car. She was posing the kids against the cars while she took their pics. She did this to at least six or eight cars. I was waiting for her to come over to mine but, she turned the other way. Am I just being picky or should people not encourage their kids to lean on other peoples cars? Never did see anyone talk to her.

Was at a show last weekend and saw a mother and her daughter proceed to wipe their hands all over a new Camaro! Wiping just not touching here and there. Glad it wasn't mine would not have been a good scene. Every freaking car feels the same exact way, why do people have to touch?

I have hundreds of pictures of my son with cars at different car shows and drag strips when he was little.

In not one single picture, unless the owner approved (and there are a lot of nice owners out there if you show them some respect) prior to taking the picture, is the boy touching a car.

I find it hard to believe that some people can be so naïve to "pride in ownership" when they are at a CAR SHOW, of all places.

I'm pretty laid back, but don't mess with my stuff without asking permission. It's the specific reason my garage tool box has this on it......

I get people who, for some reason, like to point at my engine accessories until their finger actually touches the polished aluminum! Of course, this is annoying and I then have to polish out the fingerprint. But it's worse if they do it on the polished stainless downpipes. If I don't notice, and I start the car, the fingerprints burn into the finish.

I wish they would try touching the downpipes when I first arrive. Just after coming of the highway, of course.

I wonder what "they"would do if I put a sign on my car that said: Go ahead touch it , lean on it , sit in it. Just let my know where your car is.

My dad taught us when looking at other peoples cars, hands behind your back and dont touch.
At shows if I see someone leaning against my car, i walk up, look at the car, and ask if it is theirs. When they say no, I say then get the f off.

A few years back, a guy at a show accidentally leaned over the open engine of my buddy's car to look at the motor and forgot that his keys were hanging somehow attached to the side of his jeans and they rubbed against the fender. Very lucky we found no scratches but several obscenities were thrown as it happened.

I keep my car in a very tight garage. I won't even walk past my own car with keys or wearing a belt or even jeans with rivets or zippered clothing. I block myself with a clean cloth and push the car out before I get in it.

I sit near my car at shows. When I walk away, I take notice of anyone who is hanging around it. Then I introduce it's owner and engage in friendly conversation.

I've never understood the fascination with taking a picture of a person in front of someone else's car. I have many stories however the one that comes to mind right now is the time that I was sitting on one side of the car only to notice a guy on the other side of the car opening my door and telling people it was his car. I won't tell you exactly what I said but he left in a hurry.

I found a video of my car with some commentary and text description filmed at the Belmont race track car show (for those who may not know, this is a horse racing track) and some of the information given by the commentator was incorrect! Not a bad video. But not what I wanted. Information was wrong.

I remember that day and remember the guy doing the filming. Nice guy. But I wish he would have told me and double checked the info before he decided to post it to Youtube! Thank god he didn't tell everyone it was his though.

But I did find a guy who listed his Buick on for sale on line once. And he included pictures of MY F*CKING CAR in his add!

I called him. It was ugly. He took the pics down the next day.

Possibly, the mom attends one of today's "social sensitive" colleges/universities, and she wanted a pic for "show and tell".
