Just got it all back together and it won't crank. No starter engagement at all. No clicks.. nothing. Wondering if this mystery lug has anything to do with it. I can't find what goes to if it was hooked up at all.

Any suggestions?

that plug is for the combo sender - oil sender idiot/secondary fuel pump supply... once 4psi oil is established. the sender is on passenger side of block behind lower radiator hose . note the OE sender may have been removed to install a sender for an aftermarket oil gauge or a mechanical gauge fitting

the solenoid terminal is the one closest to the block , the outer terminal is relay (on when solenoid engages )

Thanks!!! The previous owner put in aftermarket gauges so no stock sender. I put on another starter and new it cranks but no start. Going to check for spark now.....

Yes. Steady engine light is on.

I didn't move the cam sensor when I had the engine out. Only did HG swap and oil pan clean out. I did take the balancer and stuff off but have it back on correctly I think. Coil packs plugged in and bolt tight.
Thanks for your help! I really appreciate it!!!

Oh... and I have grounds on intake bolts. That's were they were when I took it apart so I tried to just put it back like it was. Should I move them?

Ohm'd them and they show to be good grounds. I have what looks like 4 separate ring terminals bolted down there.

No spark...as suggested.....is crank sensor/cam sensor/ignition module or any of the wiring.

You had the balancer off....could you have damaged the crank sensor when you reinstalled the balancer somehow?

*looks* OK to me. I assume the ring is supposed to be riding on the inside slot. The connector is not terribly tihhg fitting but it was running before. So I'm assuming I've missed something somewhere. There are a couple plugs near the air filter that I don't think we're used before but maybe??? I dunno.

Got it!!! Thanks for steering me in the right direction!

While down there I was inspecting the connector and found one of the terminals was pushed back in the connector a bit. Pushed it back in and now it fires! Only ran for a second before it shut off but were on the tihhg track thanks to y'all!!!!

Got the fast shut off figured out. It was hard to hear with an open downpipe, but I suspected a vacuum leak. Found tha tthe EGR block off plate isn't enough to seal the intake up and it has a bad vacuum leak there. Time to do some searching to find out the solution on that one.....

you need a gasket there and some high temp rtv
also use the clamp from the egr valve

Have both gasket and copper RTV in place already. I suspected I would have trouble with this contraction when I installed it is why I doupbled up there. I just didn't see how that one bolt, so far away from where I really need the clamping load, would actually seal it. And it doesn't..... I don't see how using the stock EGR clamp will work.. Might have to mock that up.
