Carfax needed for court !!

Howdy all I got a ticket for an abandoned vehicle that I sold 2 years ago is there anyone out there that can run a Carfax for me on the car? The vin # is JA3cc54n5hz029118

That only works if the new owner TITLED it ever... what if he didnt/ itd show you were still the owner.. then youd hav eto find the person and make them show the title that you signed.. what if he happened to not recall buying it.. then its your ass thats got to show the title, and everyone thinks your looney!

better hope he titled it

That's why you got the ticket. As Jay said....the new owner never transferred the title.

Here in WA state on the bottom of each title there is a tear off that the seller is supposed to fill out and send in to the DMV. That protects the seller since once the state receives the seller's portion of the title the state enters that info into the records.

I always make sure I send in that portion just to protect myself. What if the new buyer doesn't transfer it and has a major accident and runs away. They never catch the guy or even know who's driving. Guess who's on the hook.

Just show the Bill of sale that both you and the buyer signed, its that easy.

I didnt keep a copy of it since it was two years later I thought the car was long registered by now but I do have a few e-mails of correspondence between myself and the guy I sold it to which include his phone number and my name as well as a classified ad with his phone number on it in which he offered the car for sale.
