caspers knock alarm goes off all the time ( new Install )

I just got it wired up along with the new scan master and the sucker squalls as soon as I turn the key on and will not stop after starting !!!! I had to extend the yellow wire. It was too short so I put another 12" of wire on it to allow for the ECM and stuff to go back in place without pulling on the wires.
FIrst try I stripped back a place about 2-3 inch back from the plug and soldered the Yellow and Black wire to the B7 also Yellow and Black off the ECM. I then had to add a extension after I figured out they did not included enough wire on it to get all the plastic parts back in place... I cut the yellow wire in the middle to the buzzer and soldered in a new piece of wire about 12" long so I could get everything in place. Pink to IGN terminal on fuse box shared with ScanMaster. Ground to 10 mm screw under dash where a ground was already attached. Is the thing defective ???
I purchsed it last year, but its been on the shelf till now I am probably screwed warrenty wise now espcially since I cut the yellow wire etc.... My car hates me...

Is your battery weak? Mine did that a few times this year when my crappy 4 year old battery was turning over the engine pretty slowly. Would have to shut the engine off and start it again. Was fine after replacing the battery.

make sure that ign source in the fuse box DOES NOT provide power while cranking. Use a test light while cranking to verify the light pulses on/off

I used ign1 on the upper left of the fuse box.
With the key just turned to on it squalls continuously.
I think it's broke. Scan master shares power connection and seems fine.
Battery seems fine. Cranks well shows 13.6 running. On SM.

I put a switch inline with mine. The sensor activates on startup about 10% of the time. If I start the car with the switch off then turn it on when the car is running everything is fine

Is it supposed to scream with the engine off key on???
There was nothing in the instructions about adding a switch.

im not sure, but i think ign1 has constant power, the correct one for the knock meter is ign3 i believe, double check this with a tester

The knock alarm is dead I hope caspers will take care of me .
I ordered it last November. I found a wiring schematic that shows the knock sensor pulls the line low .
I hooked up a meter and when I tap on the block by the sensor the voltage dips .
So it's the alarm thats bad. FYI ign 1 does stay hot during starting ign 3 does not.
Switching made no difference either btw.

They're called IGN because...... You guessed it, power only with ignition ON. No constant power, just with ignition on.

The one's providing constant power are labeled BATT (BAT).
