This is weird??
I have 2 caspers knock guages & they BOTH do this.
In order for them to work I turn the key 1/2 way (radio no starter engagement) then turn off and start the car. If I start car NORMAL (turn key and start) the knock guage does NOT Reset. Just stays at reading when started. Do it twice Perfect everytime??
Any Ideas?? Fix this & I have a CHEAP $$ Knock Guage for someone with the answer!! Both guages are within a year old. When problem started I just got another one. Stupid me!!

By the way it was working normal for first 3 months or so.
What would affect this in electrical areas???

Give John a call. I've found him to be very helpful & knowledgeable.

This has been discussed before. Some folks found that using a momentary switch to reset the gauge after startup (breaking the ground I believe) restores proper operation. However it sounds hokey to me. Mine is working fine *fingers crossed* and it's only two years old without an added switch. I'd check your power source and ground. Mine is wired straight to an IGN port on the fuse block and grounded to a steering column mounting bolt.

As John mentioned, use a switched power source on the fuse
box, such as the radio fuse. This helped mine quite a bit, but
not 100%, so I installed a reset switch as well.
No big deal to hit the reset when it acts up.

Same problem here, at times. I was told by Casper's, at the Nats, to hook it up to the same fuse as the wipers. Mines hooked up to the radio, and it does it on occasion, but it hasn't done it since I asked, so I haven't switched yet.

E-Mailed John at Caspers & he says he can modify to stop the problem Just the shipping cost is mine
Think I'll go that route
Thanks for All the Help!!
