Casper's XFI to gn converter-does the red led ever go out?

Mine seems to be on all the time. I am getting ready to bury it in the stock ECM enclosure and want to make sure it makes sense before I do it. Is it a power drain?

The LED for STBY on the adapter box tells you that the orange wire near the battery positive connection is connected. The power drain is negligible and can handle several weeks of being on, without adversely affecting the battery voltage. If the LED is off, you should check the MEM wire to see that it's connected properly.
