Hey everyone, Im building a stock 109 for a friend and he wants stock cast pistons back in (dont ask). Anyway, my question is does anyone know where I can find a set .030 over? Federal Mogul discontinued them and all the vendors Ive contacted do not have any. Can anyone help me?

i guess i wont ask:) have u tried poston buick, $195 on their website for stock cast pistons, they also have forged or hypereutectic as well!

Welcome to Poston Enterprises !

I have .040 Sealed Power Cast pistons with pins and 5 out of 6 have rings on them...Also have some .060's pressed on a set of rods but the rods are rusty.

The ones I have are stock GM replacements... jsut like the original's.... except .030 over.... they have the little steel inserts on the underside... near the wrist pin hole..

I actually have 2 different incomplete sets.... probably enough for 7 or so good ones.

i have those in a .040 in my engine and i had beat the crap out of it over the last 4 yrs. the only problem i have had is a hd gskt issues last summer. when i took the engine completely apart the pistons looked great with very little scuffing on the skirts. i simply just cleaned them up and reused them and the rings with no ill effects yet and it has been beat on

Those stock pistons are strong!!! The engineers at Buick did their homework when they designed these pistons. They might be heavy, but they have the material in all the right places!!

Im interested, if you can make me a complete set of undamaged ones .030 over. Send me a pm.

I ran stock pistons for 17 years before they finally gave up.They died when the car was putting 550 HP to the wheels. The stockers are pretty good from my point of view.
