Chris, the only thing to do is don't talk to him about it....leave him alone...........you are seeing the true meaning of the phrase "Love is blind." And it's true.....he needs to learn on his OWN......let him get hurt/used/bashed/taken advantage of.....it's the only way he'll learn, and it'll be a good lesson for him....
You're not doing wrong by letting him learn his lesson on his own.....you're doing him a big favor.......just be there if he wants to talk, but DO NOT lecture him on how you feel about it......it'll land on closed ears.....I know it's killing you to see all of this happen, but it's not your fight......you have to stand aside and let this play out....in the end, all will learn a valuable lesson....................just keep your own hurt feelings in check......this guy needs a hard lesson in life and it's no better time to learn than now........................he'll catch on sooner or later, and, yes, it'll hurt him like hell, but, it'll only make him stronger later on down the road.
Take my advice, stay out of it........you'd be doing more good this way. Let the guy learn the hard way, as it's the ONLY way.................ask me how I know. I had to learn the meaning of "Love is Blind" the hard way myself, and it was one of the most important lessons ever. Now I'm going on 10 years of marriage and never been happier in my life............but I went through exactly the same thing like your buddy is experiencing right now. Hard, painful lesson in life for me.......I lived....so will he.....it's a part of living in this life.
Hope this makes good sense to you.
