Charlie, it's hard to see someone that basically raised me and even got me into turbo buicks, get hurt and put down like that. At first he was seeking my help and now i just see us arguing. Im trying to protect or help him?! she will use him for as long as she can and still go behind his back to have sex with someone else. She did it a few times and thats all that he knows of. All you can do is be there for him. I was guilty of extending a relationship for 18 months too long just to try to prove to this person that just because I had a d!ck didn't mean I was one. Time heals all wounds, the problem is it takes time. Might be a year, might be more. All you can do is be there for him. Don't get frustrated with him if he mopes around for a while or if he lashes out. It's going to happen.

I wasn't a great husband, but I wasn't a horrible one either.

My ex is now married to the guy she cheated on me with. That was in '97. We've managed to stay civil because we have a son together but I'll tell you this, I still feel sorta good inside everytime I hear that her new husband fucked up in some boneheaded way.

Just be there to support him, if that is his choice, support it. ( you don't have to like it ) If it falls apart be there to help pick up the pieces. You can't change how he feels. And you will only strain your relationship by trying. Its easy when your on the outside to say do this do that. Its obvious you care, but it still will not change his feelings and emotions.

My EX cheated on me 3 times and joined a cult and married the third. Thank God we didn't have a kid, but if she shows her face around here I will be going to jail if they find her body. She pulled more crap than I can tell and I lost friends and family over her BS.

It may take a while for him to figure out and I hope they get into some sort of counseling, but support his decision until he decides he's had enough.
