Chandra Levy's mom says police have enough evidence to convict - CNN.com

I hope it's something really good they have. Like solid DNA with a confession or something similar.

A mans political career was ruined as a result. The act of infidelity does not ruin a politicians career. Just ask Bill Clinton....

This guy was railroaded because he didn't want his wife finding out that he had a side piece of azz. I'm sure JFK had similar concerns.... as would any man in that situation.

He retained an attorney and took his advice. That's it.... Tried, convicted and punished in the press. Pathetic.

They are very sure they got the right guy.
I guess that's a hazard with public life. If he was faithful nothing would have happened.

If he had wings he could fly. What does being faithful have to do with murder?

I don't remember former President Clintons political career suffering for failing to be faithful. If the woman didn't end up dead do you think a marital affair would have prevented him from being re-elected? I think not.

Well, if he hadn't had an affair with the girl he wouldn't have been a suspect in her disappeance. That's pretty simple and if I dare say "moral".

Well, if the Police had done their job correctly from ther beginning it wouldn't matter would it? You can "If" all day long but it doesn't change the fact that he was never even listed as a suspect by the police.

The press and the "Moral Police"? What next?

I wasn't aware that "Moral" and "Murder" were so closely related....

From what I remember of the story there wasn't much to go on except the affair. I don't think her body was found until a few years later, correct?

If the man had just stayed true to his vows, no bad press would have haunted him.

I believe the body was found about a yr. later by someone walking their dog thru the park. After the police covered every inch of the park....

The Police did the right thing by making him a person of interest. Anyone and everyone can be a person of interest when it comes to a murder investigation.

The Congressman spent time with her recently so it would only make sense that he be interviewed to see what possible info he could shed on the investigation even if he wasn't a person of interest in the actual murder. Just as im sure any close friends were interviewed as information gathering.

Based on the initial investigation it was likely that she did in fact go for a jog. She did not have her wallet with her when her body was found and it didn't appear as if she was going anywhere special.

It was a sensational case and just about impossible to keep from the press. A lot of people think he was his own worst enemy because he didn't go public with what he knew or didn't know.

He knew that if he put himself in that position he would be subject to questions pertaining to his affair which undoubtedly would have been asked. Which in reality was no ones business but his families. It had nothing to do with the public or tax dollars.

The other issue is if the case had went to trial there would not have been a person on the planet that could have sat on that jury without a tainted opinion of the Congressman and his involvement in the murder. I guess it comes with the territory when involving ones self in politics. Dosen't make it right, but very true I guess.
