I bought a new set of shocks for the rear. Normally not a hard thing to change but of course the top bolts just spin and spin without coming out!..I noticed there is a small slot above the shock mount area. Are there nuts on top or is it a bolt that was fixed to the body that has now come lose? I never had a hard time changing shocks before! Go figure! Any suggestions?
Thanks guys!

I'm sure there are nuts up there. I think they are 13mm and they may be prevailing torque style self locking. Best tool is a stubby open end / box end. It is a pain to hold the wrench on the top nut with 1 hand and then take loose the bolt with the other. All while trying to fight to look around and through the coiul spring to see what is going on.

Just found a picture I had from my frame off on my car. Definitely nuts there. Good luck.

Have fun,

Jerry jr

thanks for the advice and pic! I'm sure I will get them off now but how the hell are you supposed to get the nut back on the bolt when your installing the new shocks? You cant get your fingers in the opening...This is going to be fun!

just changed mine last weak all the way around. Fronts were easy as pie. Backs, yes they require a lil limber fingers. There are nuts up there and yes they are hard to get to. Need an open end wrench and socket wrench with big extension and you will be o.k. They wont be that hard to put back on just be patient. Enjoy your new smooth ride I am until i dropped spark on one cylinder. But thats a whole new thread. Cheers
