Ok, while doing a little work I noticed that the hard line coming out of my charcoal canister had been rubbed soo long it wore a hole right through the tube that crosses over by where the down pipe and cross over meet kinda. So I unplugged the wire going to the canister solenoid for now. While it was plugged in, what was it doing. I mean, what was screwing up because of that hole.
I'm under the assumption that that thing sucks the vapors out of the fuel tank and throws them in the charcoal canister, correct? So was that just an open vent to my gas tank like that then?

You were venting gasoline vapors to the atmosphere......contributing to Global warming and the melting of the polar ice caps. We are sending all the penguins, seals and polar bears to live with you when the ice is all gone!! :D

The charcoal canister stores vapors from the fuel tank. The solinoid on the top is connected to manifold vacuum. when the car is started it does a canister purge. The solenoid opens and vacuum is applied to the charcoal canister. If you look at the bottom of the canister it has a filter like mesh. The vacuum draws air up through the canister charcoal and into the intake manifold where the gas vapor is a burned in the combustion process.

NOOO. I don't want to warm my globe! Wait. Yes I do. It was DAM cold last winter!

We're also going to blame you for all the additional farm land and extended growing seasons that end world hunger.

so take that!

I will take that! A little known fact though-we already produce enough food world wide, to more than feed every person on the earth, with left overs. Another fact, and it kills me-in America alone, we throw out exactly half of all food produced. Either from left overs in your house, to unsold food in restaurants. Half... Messed up isn't it.
So back to the fuel vapor venting. Could I cut that line and throw some rubber tubing over it and hose clamp it? I'm at work and can't remember how close it is to a heat source.

My hose is fine. It's the steel hard line down by the exhaust crossover that's rubbed through. How, I've no idea.

Yes you can cover the hard line with a piece of hose and clamp it.

I took my canister out and just plugged the lines a long time ago!!!

Also took my canister out. Venting the vapor with a metal mesh filter from a paint gun stuff with a charcoal filter. Bad for the planet, but so are humans.

I just took a can opener and punched a hole in the top of my tank.

Removing the tank will reduce your "Carbon Footprint"

The polar bears, penguins and seals can all sleep better tonight!!:)
