Forgot to discuss where the water from condensation will go. What a back yard hillbilly. How about buy a window unit if you are strapped for $$.

You need to get rid of the humidity, that is more important than the temp.

It probably goes into his dog's bowl. I can't believe what some window units are going for at the local home depot anyway. For the asking price of some you could get a nice coil and almost a nice condenser.

Working in the HVAC field I have seen some pretty amazing things that people have done. They are usually proud of it even though they almost lost a body part, killed themself, or blew up the house, etc. This guy seems pretty proud as well. I think he has one thing going for him that even the EPA will side with him on.... Its ozone friendly. He will never have a black hole in the ozone over his house. You can also use it to keep your drinks chilled. That system isn't for everyone though. If its like my house our ice trays are always empty, so we would never have cooling.

No, people used to hang wet sheets in the window and the breeze blowing in would cool the room. Just another form of free cooling. No pee involved.
