check balls

first i want to say thanks to all the guys who helped me to get my forward drum problem done, also to chris who sold me the new billet one.
i´m almost finished assembling but now i´m a little confused, in my repair book there are 8 check balls (except the one that´s at the servo) in the tranny and 3 in the valve body but i´m missing 2 balls. i could swear that i paid a lot of attention on loosing balls but do shift kits need less balls? if yes which ones are removed?

btw. the mph transmission instruction paper says: modified control valve body and it´s non lockup

A lot of shift kits omit 2 check balls. The T.V. exhaust check ball and the 4th accumulator check ball.

can something get messed up if i try this? tv ball is the one up front next to the dipstick hole and 4th accumulator one the one between accumulator housing and oil pan rail?

It won't hurt a thing. You are correct on the location #1 and #5.
