I remember reading a while ago that someone, I believe it was Red, made a chip whereby the check engine light would go on around 5,000 rpms. Just like a shift light.
Does anyone have any info about this?
Sounds like a great idea. No need for a tach.
Is this possible?

Thanks
Nick

Easy to do. Most chip hackers have the code. You can select what RPM level you want the light to come on at, up to 6,375.

Scott,

You state that most chip hackers have the code. Does this mean that I can get it done to my chip or do I have to purchase another one? If I have to purchase another one, who's do you recommend? I presently have a Jim Testa chip in my car.

Thanks
Nick

Jim's chips have anti tamper in them. While most chip guys worth their weight in salt could remove it, I doubt they would out of respect. You probably need to contact Jim directly and see if he has the shift light code.
