I just don't see whats so special about it? A turbine motor being pointed down for a take off or landing isn't new, or cool imho, or very functional in real war settings. A landing strip is quicker and more efficient. Besides we have 8 nuclear carriers (when no other country in the world even has ONE!), that's 8 mobile nuclear capable carriers. We don't have a use for it imho, but then again I am no judge of what is or isn't needed by our military. I just think its a waste in general.

Kinda neat for us folks that dont see this stuff often.. Let me see I don't think I ever saw one in person... I did see a HARRIER in a movie

Was that the plane in True Lies with Arnold
A friend of mine who is now an FBI agent working overseas was a Harrier pilot in the Marines and was one of the pilots flying the Harrier in the movie True Lies.

His name is actually in the credits somewhere. He does counter terroism now. Some very kool stuff.

the one in the arnold movie was a harrier jump jet the kind our marines use, this particular jet does the same thing as the harrier but is stealthy and is able to go supersonic, something the harrier couldn't do
