chevy 6" rods in a 109???

Ive tried to find stroke,rod lenth and piston compression height specs on GNTTYPE but didnt. I know they will have to be ground for the off center and the cank pin is larger. Im thinking about a steel crank so the crank pin to 2.100 shouldnt be a problem. I have a set thats been collecting dust and its use them or sell them any ideas???

The stock stroke length is 3.400", the stock rod is 5.960" and the compression height is 1.850" or there abouts. I have a stock stroke steel crank ground for 2.100" journals myself. The 6.0" rods should work fine but the change in length (+.040") will increase the compression ratio all other things being the same. Another concern is that the pin dia. for a Buick is .940" and a SBC is .927". If you order a custom piston it's not a big deal.

Is offsetting the rods a big deal for a machine shop,cost? With a 1.8 compression height that should be ok to move the pin higher I think the pistons are stable to about 1.250. All i nedd now is a BMS 3.4stroke with 2.100 pins-needle in a hay stack:)

You're right about the pin height. There is a lot of room there but when the compression distance ends up in the 1.200" range (ie: long stroke w/ 6.500" rod) the piston pin will be in the oil scraper ring groove. BTW, I have the crank you're looking for and several sets of different length rods also. Drop me a line.
