imagine how shocked they are gonna be when they find out that AM General still builds the military HMMV's, and that the Hummer brand has nothing to do with those..

Imagine how shocked they will be on there Gas Mileage!

From what I heard they will still be built in the US so thats a positive...

Good, I never liked them anyways (except for the Originals). All I want GM to make is the Corvette and Camaro, and bring back the Trams Am's.

:( Not going to happen with the Trans Am, Camaro, or Vett. Its GOVERMENT MOTORS NOW!!!!! ITs all about the 35mpg and cars that look like the smart car.:(

It's also about profits and performance cars are profitable-we'll pay extra to go fast!

All car companies will have to average 35 mpg, not just GM.

and not every car will have to get 35mpg- the average of the entire fleet that is sold will have to average 35mpg. that still leaves room for fast cars- and the way GM builds fast cars that get relatively good mileage, they won't have to try to force people to buy as many econo death boxes as everyone else will.

No Surprises

I matter of factly told my dad this tonite without forehand knowledge. The Chinese need a vehicle they can adapt for successful military use. This is military bred.

No matter how much I love Buick, the fact is that the Chineese buy what's almost invisible in our market. It get's saved while Pontiac got chopped tipped me off. According to Car and Driver, last year Pontiac sold 297K units. Buick sold 138K, mostly in China. Where's the business case for dropping Pontiac and saving Buick? There is none, it's as politically motivated as the intent to force vehicles we don't want and won't wish to buy upon us despite market realities. Even @ $4 gasoline prices, Toyotrash stopped work on their US Prius plant due to lack of demand. We will all pay for this. But not from behind the wheel of something new we enjoy.

how is the Hummer brand "military bred"?
the H2 and H3 are essentially a body kit that looks kinda sorta like a military HMMV, but on shortened 3/4 ton TSuburban (H2) or Trailblazer (H3) chassis. there is nothing military about anything currently sold under the Hummer brand, since they discontinued the H1 a few years ago. and even that wasn't really "military bred", since almost nothing on them was the same as what our military gets. but it looked the part..
military HMMV's are still built by AM General with GM engines. the Hummer designs wwere licensed to GM..

Its sickening is what it is...

We are becoming a Nation OWNED BY OUTSIDERS:eek: Does anyone realize just how much the Chinese already own? Or the Arabs? It is quite scary to me...

You think companies don't care about Americans now, just wait until they are all owned by foreigners:(

Is it better to let the Hummer brand die and take thousands of jobs with it?

Welcome to Captialism! Bottom and profits are the only thing that matters.

I stand corrected. They appear to have a resemblance in suspension to the originals. I don't really give a damn what China buys or builds as long as it isn't MY (or yours) mortgage or I get forced to buy it because the American equivilent isn't available anymore. I buy used alot anymore.
