My car was shutting off at lights but would run fine when driving. Just at stop lights would this happen. So I looked on the forum found a couple threads on cleaning throttle body and iac. So I said why not give it a try. They were both gross I doubt they were ever cleaned. Put everything back together and when I tried to start the car the first time, turned the key and it almost started. Now it turns over but that's it. Doesn't sound like it wants to. I am super lost.

Did it just die, or was there some stumbling and popping?

Agree with Nick, you need FUEL, AUR, SPARK, and COMPRESSION for it to start. If it ran before, it is something that you did. Have you checked all your connections; leave something unplugged. TPS? Did you disconnect the IAC plug while key was on? Did you move the TPS at all? Do you have a scanmaster? What does the TPS read? Did you pull the needle out on the IAC? It could be stuck shut and not getting enough vacuum to start. Last thing, how long and how much did you crank it over? You may have flooded the motor. Do you smell a lot of gas? Pull a plug and check them out.

I will check the connections now I can hear the fuel pump prime. I have the hot wire kit and better fuel pump installed. And I will post all of my scanmaster readings also

Tps should be .42-.44
IAC looks to be compensating.

Do you have a stock mass airflow meter on the car?

Fire up the car and let it idle. Tap the maf with the fat end of a screw driver. If she stumbles then your maf has crapped out.

I had a couple cars that would drive fine, but at lights would stumble and die.

Give it a shot, its a free procedure :)

Maybe I am in a cranky mood this AM, but car will start and run, or at least backfire with a bad MAF, IAC, TPS, etc, so did you bother to check and see if you have a spark by pulling a wire, or fuel pressure in the rail?

You cannot fix this issue with a I-phone, it will take a little skill and common sense.

If it wont start and just cranks, give it throttle while cranking. See if that starts the car. If, so it's the iac.

Nick, just come out and say it.... You always have so something to say when I comment or post. I have always treated and talked to you with respect and value your advice. I have never bad mouthed you or tried to degrade your reputation. Nor anyone other else that hangs out at your place. If you have something against me or have something to say, then you need to say it. I have always felt or git the perception that you give a rats ass about our friendship. If I call and talk to you, leave a message, or come visit, you always are a beat around the bush type guy. You never return my calls unless I am spending money with you. And lastly, because I use an IPHONE, doesn't mean that I don't have the experience and knowledge and certification. But I will let that go.

I tried giving it gas still nothing. When I check spark pull plug wire put a screwdriver in and see if it arks on something metal?

Yes. Test for spark, test for fuel. Unplug the maf and try a start.
