im going to repaint the black on my chrome GN rims, but was wondering whats the best way to get the chrome clean? they look good from a couple of feet away, but up close they have very small pits in them. also, anyone find an easy way to paint the black part yet?

wow, thanks a lot....looks great. where can i get the 0000 steel wool? i assume its a really fine steel wool....

Yes that grade of steel wool is very fine.I would check any automotive paint suppliers, home depot or lowe's. They may if not then you can always find it on the internet. Hope that helps.

well since i had some down time at work tonight i got the buffer out and went to town on one of the rims.....i went from least abrasive to most and ended up using an alpha grit with teh buffer on 3k rpm.....nothing....the center chrome is like new, but the actual rim part is kind of a brownish color, probably from brake dust sitting too long. at this point if there are no other ideas, i may have tyo get them rechromed. thanks for the help though
