cleaning the GN chrome wheels

It had been a while since I cleaned the wheels, so now brake dust is caked on the front wheels. What product do you guys use to get them clean? One of the various spray wheel cleaners, chrome polish?

On our impala SS which has clearcoated aluminum rims we use standard carnuba wax to protect the rims. Now the brake dust comes right off where as before it was a major pain. Has anyone tried waxing the GN wheels, or is this a bad idea on the chrome?

Ideas, suggestions?

Windex and then chrome polish. Works for me and the chrome polish neutralizes any little rust pits you might have, for a while.
