Guys,

When my can is running and I put the transmission in reverse I get a clunk sound. I am not sure if it is the tranny, u joints or rear end.
Any suggestions where to look at first?

Thanks in advance

BTW this is my street car with a stock 200 tranny.

check the U-joints first, thats the easiest... I put a rear end and new driveshaft in mine and found out the clunk was in the trans.... had other reasons for the rear end and driveshaft replacement though, I wasn't just guessing, was kind of hoping the clunk would disappear in the process.

Thanks man I should have a spare stock drive shaft at chow's house.

you can probably just check the driveshaft by crawling under there. Try twisting it side to side and moving it up and down... can also get a decent sized prybar in there just to see what kind of slop they have...

or, if you have a good spare, you could probably just try that too.

Reverse spring could be broken?

Mine was broken in half, made a 'clunk' sound when I'd put it in reverse

also you can check the rear motor mount and it could be worn out...It would also make the noise that you hear.
