Ok, I remember you. You're the guy with, what is it now? 12 posts? My rule is that if I'm going to deal with anyone who has limited or no posts or feedback, the most I'll risk is $20 bux... Sorry, you didn't like that but that's how I protect myself from scammers. Not saying you are one, just saying that in my experience it's best/safer to deal with people who are established in the community. (However, I am willing to take a chance because everyone has to start somewhere...)

If you want to sell the items for $20 bux shipped, I'll take the risk even though you've gotten a little nasty over nothing. Heck, I'll even make sure to leave you positive feedback.

Otherwise, yes, I'm still looking... TTT

$25 shipped .. you can't find them  good luck. Yes I do have them but can't waste my time looking for just them.. I thought $25 was a deal .. oh well

$25 is a good deal but if you took the time to read the above post, I don't spend more than $20 when I'm dealing with "unknown" people. -Just my rule to keep from getting burned.

If you have some to sell please let me know. If not, I'll keep looking. Thanks for posting.

I posted in gbody's perpetual for sale post but never got a response and I'm impatient as I have to finish this car... Anyway, I'm looking for the grey plastic trim that surrounds the chrome coat hangers on the astroroof cars..

Does anyone have a nice set they can part with.

See post number #20 to see what I'm talking about.

I have paypal standing by.

I also posted on numerous times on my "perpetual post" started in 2005 That the best way to contact me is via e-mail.
Honestly every time you ask me for a part we are over priced. I know we should do this for the love of the cars & not make a profit.

Maybe you should start a post like I'm willing to pay $20.00 shipped for these. If you have a post count less then XYZ do not bother responding.
I'm impatient so please e-mail or post asap.

This is just a perpetual idea.;)

Mr. Weaver: I do not recall pulling your string...

But since you felt it necessary to chime it, let me be clear.
Your prices are high. Frankly, I'd prefer to never have to do business with you as you've already ripped me off for a few hundred bucks...

Nevertheless, you seem to have a good selection of parts that we all need. When I'm looking for two little plastic pieces and you quote me $50.00, I think that it is priced too high (I'm sure many others here feel the same way, they simply may not say so).

I do not begrudge anyone a profit, that is afterall, the purpose of running a business. However, gouging simply because you can, well that's a different story entirely...That being said, in this free market, I have the option to purchase if I am fine with the price or to pass if I am not fine with the price. I have chosen to pass. In fact, when I do pass I don't go on ranting about your prices, I simply go elsewhere to buy... I don't see what your problem is...

As for the other guy, he came out of nowhere with a minimal post count and offered me the items I needed at a reasonable price. However, being leary of recent "events" lately I have implemented my rule so as not to be on the loosing end of any dealings. Of course it's not a guarantee but it helps.

However, because I chose not to purchase from him, or you for that matter, I am getting "lectured"???

As you can see I have 100% feedback. I deal on the square with everyone I do business with either buying or selling.

Anyway, this is a parts wanted thread and I am still wanting these parts. If you want to sell them to me reasonably, I will buy them. If not, run along and complain elsewhere.

Good Day sir.

Not complaining at all just making a suggestion. You did not pull my string just bumped it on the word perpetual post.

If I ripped you off for a few hundred dollars please let me know where. I will make it right. E-mail me your invoice # or when you placed the order or what it was. Your complaint & I'll look it up.

If I quoted you $50.00 for both pieces it must have been with the hanger, plastic & screws shipped.

Just please keep this in mind. We are not running a wrecking yard where we get cars for free or under $200. We do not keep cars for 2 weeks & then crush them to get several hundreds of dollars in steel.
We are not working out of a 24 x 24' garage.
I use to but no longer doing this as purely a hobby.
I do have employees.
Electric bill this month was $1100.00
I can go on but you get the idea.

At the same time every day I give parts away like we have for the last 12 years. I'm not going to charge a customer $1.00 for a part & shipping.

I have found out over the years what is expensive to one customer is cheap to another. I have had people ask what is wrong with it? I asked if I charged more would you have felt better. No I just wasn't expecting it that cheap.
Others call you nuts when you think your giving them a deal. So I have to arrive at a part price myself.

Alot of these parts are still available. Lets just say you need only the metal part that goes into the plastic new.
part# 20010181 $16.82 .This is with my GM discount & That is each.
Now that is not including freight when we buy them.

When I price something it is what did it cost new. Is it still available. When was it available? How many were built?
How much did we have in the car when we bought it?
There are more factors but you get the idea.
I'll look up what they cost new & when they were discontinued.

Please don't get me wrong, I called your post perpetual because I have always seen it floating around near the top of the for sale section but when I looked, it was a few years old (and I was surprised that it was still going strong). Nevertheless, you are a paying vendor and have as much right, if not more, to post all the stuff you want for sale. So, it was not meant as a complaint or a slight.

As for my previous issue with you, we went back and forth with emails and pm's and nothing was resolved (I still have them if you'd like to see them). It was my loss and I ate it. Not saying I'm happy about it but it was several years ago...

As for how you conduct your business or set your prices, that's at your discretion as the owner and the guy who has to pay the bills... I am not so delusional to think that all Buick parts should be free or super cheap; I understand that there are expenses associated with running a business such as overhead, employees, insurance, etc...

However, my general gripe, (such as has been with many TR owners as of late), is that some of the prices for these parts seem exceptionally high... For example, I'm sure you've seen the 9 hole hood pad that sold for $700.00, or the rear fillers that are going for over $600.00! I know many parts are discontinued but they seem to be out of reach for all but the ones with the deepest pockets. Of course, that's not your problem or your fault, merely my observation.

Now, as for my specific gripe about your prices... I have never complained about them but I've simply passed on purchasing... One example is a mirror glass that I was looking for. You quoted me $50.00 for a piece of OEM mirror glass. I thought it was a bit high so I passed... Another example is the parts I'm looking for in this thread....two rounded plastic pieces that the coat hooks attach to (no hooks, or screws- I have those already)... Again the quote was $50. (I assume shipped IIRC), but it again, seemed to me that $50 was a little too high for some simple little plastic pieces...

I don't expect you to sell parts like a salvage yard for next to nothing or give parts away for free as you do have a business to run and a profit to realize. Sometimes, however, I've simply felt the prices were too high for the parts I was looking for. I did not call you or email or pm you to complain about your pricing. I did not ask you to reduce your pricing. I merely declined to purchase at those prices.

As has been stated, there were plenty of astroroof cars built and I should be able to locate these pieces in a salvage yard but in my current location, access to the salvage yards is limited and the ones that area available have limited selection as they crush everything for scrap every few weeks... Thus, I am regularly looking for certain parts I can't find otherwise.

I'm still looking for these parts and am willing to buy for a more reasonable price. If you want to make me a deal, great. If not, that's ok, I'll keep looking.

Forward me the e-mails about what we had a problem with. I'm getting older not as old as Grumpy but getting closer.

I agree on some prices going rediculous. under hood liners are out of site because 1 person paid that price. Now every one wants to get that much.

Rear fillers I have seen over 1200.

Mirror glass I know what I paid for which dictated the price. It wasn't just you why I priced it. In other words nothing personal. We just put them on the site last week.

I did have alot of fun reading about your adventures though;)

On the moon roof cars I wouldn't say there were alot made. I would say they were actually in the lowest production of roof options.

Get me those e-mails & I may suprise you. Even when you enjoy what you do you can have bad days.

Mr. Weaver: I wasn't surprised. I sent you all the PM's, emails and even my phone number... Nothing?!?!?

Still looking for the parts.

Still looking for the parts.

Returned you with a PM. I had family drop in this weekend. Just killing them with kindness aren't you?

No unkindness here... Just stating that I had done as you had requested and not heard anything from you.

Still looking for these parts...TTT

you know i used the term d!ck head loosely earlier but you really are aTOTAL DI#KHEAD I hope you never find what you are looking for have a NICE DAY if that's possible

Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?

Why don't you kids run along and play and let the grown ups talk.
You're calling me nasty names because I didn't buy something from you. Grow up. Superdave you are dismissed.

and yangiant51, not sure who you are or what your stake in this is but if you have a beef with me, please feel free to pm me.

Evidently others feel the same or you have your parts after a month there should be several around. It's people like you that make parting cars and going to swap meets at times miserable always wanting a lowball price to the point it's an insult but luckily there are others that realize these parts don't just magically pop into totes and arrive at swap meets and layed out on tables and then repacked and hauled back home for the next swap meet down the road. Don't get me wrong I really enjoy providing a service for the ones that appreciate it but JERKS like you try my patience.Usually the parts I have are unique or not just laying around everywhere, and if like am looking for some parts like that I usually grab them and definatly not haggle over five bucks so good luck on your search and by the way as tight as you are you would probably screw your mother instead of going to town and paying for it.GOOD DAY!!

Ok guys, I see where this is headed lets just shut it off right now please.

Thank You in advance.

superdave: I think I have already dismissed you yet you keep on whining. I usually ignore this nonsense but you have gotten belligerent with me because I didn't buy something from you. Really?

You come here to our beloved site, contribute nothing, have a total of -what
is it now? 16 posts? and all of them are selling stuff? Please go back to your swapmeets and bother someone else.

Ty, please close this thread.
