Code 55 Faulty ECM?

I am getting this malfunction code on several TL frames. Any idea what this means? If the ECM was completely bad the car would not run right, correct? Car runs fine otherwise, I just get this code sometimes as well as having the rest of the readings very off also. Speed will jump to max, rpms to max, Mat to max, basically everything to max. Goes away after several frames. Any ideas? TIA

Flaky connection is your problem. Make sure it's clean, and the connector isn't gettiing shuved on too far.

Also check the back of the PC to make sure the cable isn't being "jiggled" by the seat cushion. I had this happen, drove me crazy for a week until I figured out the laptop was settled into the cushion and was pushing against the cushion. Everytime I hit a bump, the connection went nuts!
