It was great talking to you right after the driver's meeting. Congrats on getting your 10 sec slip

Thanks. It was great to talk to you too and that is a great looking Mustang. To me, the retro-styled car is the best looking one they've ever.

Will see you next year and hopefully the contest will be more evenly matched both in number of cars and the strength of both fields.

Now we can start turning up the power and tuning since there is a convertor that can take more power rather than just slip more.

In my defense, my 2 qualifying passes were making sure I had a safe tune after my wideband O2 died. I let it build some boost hoping I could run him down but he cut a great light. Ran a new best but still lost.

That thing is fast!

There are a few guys on that list that I know were not sandbagging, like John Turpen (look at his mph in his fast car, it's the same but he had a traction issue) and then James Pringle was in the Mountaineer, that was his 2nd pass in that thing and I think he took the air filter out on the 2nd :tongue. I told those guys I didn't think Mark Shackelford was sandbagging, he hadn't run his car at a track much lately.

Some of those guys were sandbagging for sure though. One of them told me he was going to, and he did. That Blake Murdock guy does this every single year, so it's no surprise to see him shave half a second or more every time.

This is a TEAM event and sandbagging on our side hurts our team but not too much this year.:biggrin:

Intentionally sandbagging may help you may win your race but some of the folks below you in the ladder may lose theirs because they have to race a faster car than they should have raced.

We don't have rules against sandbagging and it is highly unlikely that we ever will. We just need to have the larger and stronger team and then avoid red lights and delayed launches.

I'll be starting a thread for 2011 in a couple of weeks once the final event date is set.

I've got more from another camera, just need to buy some batteries for it then dock it to the computer. Also my buddies took some video there.


First one is the top 10 qualifiers, second is mostly Amarillo area cars, but it does include Shawn's GTP, JD's gn, and some other Buicks.
